I don't even know how this is a question

I try to find the most stock car I can find when I buy used, and am willing to pay a small premium

Im crazy to say this, but the modded s2k is what I would take. Buying a car done for you is always cheaper than building it yourself.

A better question is: why would any ask $14k for a 2000 MY S2000 with that many miles....and with a broken diff? That is simply too much IMO.

Option 2 if you want less trouble....test drive first of course.

I would only take Option 1 if a) you talked him way down ($10k is honestly more like it IMO), b) want a pure track car to play with, and c) like doing your own wrenching to save money on putting on a new rear end.

option 2

Mod it how you want it for the price diff and it's the most probable not to have issues down the road. Honestly, you dont know if it's JUST the rear end or if something else is wrong.

Inline Pro Stage 1 != $7k

it's around $4k

http://www.inlinepro.com/s1/p-15-stage-1-s...-turbo-kit.aspx

Even then all the parts are depreciated and should not have the MSRP of the new parts as a factor of used buying price. I'd say for ALL the parts mentioned in the OP add $2.5k to the kbb price of the vehicle minus $1k for the diff.
