What should I do?
without reading all the posts I say take the stock. red hasnt been broken in yet and it runs. this is common sense. dont make a mistake. why buy a car that needs to be trailered? I know i wouldnt.
A better question is: why would any ask $14k for a 2000 MY S2000 with that many miles....and with a broken diff? That is simply too much IMO.
Option 2 if you want less trouble....test drive first of course.
I would only take Option 1 if a) you talked him way down ($10k is honestly more like it IMO), b) want a pure track car to play with, and c) like doing your own wrenching to save money on putting on a new rear end.

Inline Pro Stage 1 != $7k
it's around $4k

Even then all the parts are depreciated and should not have the MSRP of the new parts as a factor of used buying price. I'd say for ALL the parts mentioned in the OP add $2.5k to the kbb price of the vehicle minus $1k for the diff.
