Default What is VAFC?

More newbie questions. I've read about VAFC but I still don't entirely understand it. It is an interface to the ECU that allows you to customize the VTEC engagement point right? But I've read people talking about it in terms of rwhp and that doesn't make sense. Does it allow for some kind of flat gain? Or are they merely speaking of their results after lowing the VTEC engagement point?

Why would you want to lower the VTEC engagement point for normal street driving?

Also, I saw a picture of a Civic with two VAFCs installed? What is the reasoning behind that?

The picture is in this link:
VAFC Install

Thanks for putting up with my ignorance.

Nah, I didn't look at the pic but ones a VAFC and the other is probably a AVC-R (boost controller) they look pretty much the same. Also do a search on VAFC in Under the Hood. You will find a lot of good reading.
