What would you buy to replace your S?
After 9 years of ownership I still love my S2K. However, after 5 years I was itching for something new. I am lucky enough to not have to sell the Honda, but added a C6 ZO6 to the stable. Can't complain about 500+ horsepower and all that torque. Since the cars are totally different it was easy to justify having them both. This last winter I got the bug again to add something extreme to my garage. After looking at Ariel Atoms and realizing they were just too impractical for street use I turned my attention to Lotus. Found a rare 2009 Lotus Exige S 260 with 120 miles, untitled, and got a great deal. I cannot take the Lotus out unless I am prepared to have long conversations with people about the car and its specifications. I get thumbs up with the S2K and ZO6, and blank stares with wide open mouths with the Lotus. So I now have the perfect garage of sports cars that are the best bang for the buck. Which car I drive depends on my mood, the weather, and who is coming with me.

I'd definitely have the same garage if I could afford it. Ashame about the front license plates though. So thankful they are not required in PA. Never put one on the Lotus if it's required, and just accept the tickets.
Elise. Not much else has the looks and the light weight that I want in the price range I'd prefer.
Yeah, I'd take an Ariel Atom, but daily driving it as I do now would be a little rough. Especially in the rain.
And it'd have to be in a loud color. I have no plans of ever owning a white, black, or silver car again. It's all beige to me.

a few have already mentioned it, but if you are worried about dependability on the s2000 as the car gets older. then yes sell you current one but upgrade to an 06+ with low milage. There are a good handful out there. i went from an 03 to an 06 and its great. i dont worry about something could happpen today to my car anymore.. its worry free driving in the sence of something brake on the car. and you cant go wrong with that.
I have an 03 an lv the car so much ...I'd be hard pressed to get even an ap2
...I must be
...but that 9k redline to me is the true stand out joy of my AP1 ... its one MAJOR thing that makes the S different than any other car ..I just couldn't give that up . I know u can do work on ap2 to increase the redline ...just not the same as a car that has a oem 9k redline ..trust me I know
...however in closing ...I'd also say there has never been an S i wouldn't wanna own 8k ...9k its still an S2000 .maybe one day i'll have both an ap1 and ap2

Porsche 911
Acura NSX
Something Ferrari with a mid engine V8, or a front engine V12
I really like the looks of the new Z4, I might consider one.
Porsche Boxster (Spyder?)
That's about it. There is nothing in the price range that would get it done for me. A friend of mine had an MR2 with a nice suspension and a swapped 2ZZ that was amazing. It's just not as nice of a car. It thrills better than a factory S2000 though.
