Default What would you do?

So I bought an 05 S2000 from a Hyundai dealer in Maryland (3 hrs from my home). The car had 51,500 miles on it...It comes with a 90 day 3,000 mile warranty...

I have some minor things I'm concerned about:

Spongy Feeling to the clutch....
Clunky sound when putting the car into 1st gear at a stop....
Very quiet but high pitched whine from the rear when accelerating in several gears...Goes away as the RPM's go up...

1. How serious do these issues sound?
2. Just found out my warranty is with that dealership ONLY. I hardly want to drive 3 hours for check up on a vehicle that might have nothing wrong with it. Thoughts here?

I know its a 6 year old car so I can't drive myself nuts with every sound...But I'm unfamiliar with the s2000 so I'm a bit skeptical and fearful of things...

Thanks

#1 it could be the master cylinder to the clutch or the master slave cylinder. but the friction point will be very low when your engaging a gear. Check the fluids and maybe its time for a flush.

#2 clunk is normal. scared the piss out of me too. but all s2ks do it.

3# but having whine in the rear could turn very bad. try to change your diff oil. suppose to be changed every 15k miles but people always over look it. i change mine every other oil change. over kill or not im not going to let a 10 dollar fluid change become a 800 dollar expense. your suppose to use 75w-90. i have been using Valvoline and like it.

about 1/2 way down the page. he needed a new diff cause the fluid in there wasnt correct.

1/3 are pretty serious but 2 is normal

Spongy feeling in your clutch should get fixed by this (I did it today--clutch is now like a feather slicing butter):

Clunk when putting into 1st at a stop sounds normal. I heard putting it into 2nd first, then into 1st may get rid of the clunk. It's normal from my research on here.

Not sure if the high-pitched whine is clutch buzz or your differential. First thing is you need to replace the diff fluid, engine oil, engine filter, transmission fluid. Also the intake air filter and cabin air filter. Research on here, use quality fluids, use the OEM filters. Then get back to us.

Thanks Fellas...I'll get to work on these changes this weekend...I'll report back...If it's the differential this thing will be on a trailer back to the dealer...They can pay for it...

I'll keep you posted...Please check back in once I give my impressions post fluid changes and cylinder greasing...

Until my car is really warm it does not go into first w out force, so i've given up on it all together, slap second first and it goes like butter. I would be more concerned but once the car gets driven a bit or when the sun cookes it will go straight into first just fine. I only make short trips so the trans rarely gets to a nice hot buttery temp. P.s. my MT is fresh with Honda MTF.

I cannot imagine anyone describing the TSB054 clutch buzz noise as a "high-pitched whine."

Its more like a high pitched whistling sound...Only on initial acceleration in whatever gear I'm in...As the revs go up it goes away...Thoughts?
