Every time after I start the car, there's a high pitched sound that lasts for about 2 seconds. It sound similar to my CRX's fuel pump... but usually that only happens before I actually start the car. What's the sound?

thanks,
-Shing

Hey, mine does that too. I have also noticed if I have the car in nuetral and let the clutch out before it is done whinning and buzzing, it will stall. This stalling feature presents itself only when the car has been sitting overnight and is cold.

Let me qualify that last post. Mine makes the noises right after I start the car.

Indeed it is. Thanks for the direction BassMan.

Now about that stalling? Is this part of the air pump process?

I like the sound it makes. Kind of sounds like a jet engine revving up before takeoff.

By the way, that sound is completely normal. At the last West LA meet, everyone turned on their engines and the exact same high pitched sound came from each car.

I believe that it is some sort of vacum for the breather valve (top of valve cover). My brother's Jetta does the same thing.
