happened to me too, have to pull the bumper to fix it. sux. first time and i'm on my 3rd s2k.

I had the exact problem a couple weeks ago. Fish out by taking the license plate bolt and thread it through. While pulling the bolt towards you, pinch on the end of the clip before pushing the clip in....same thing for the other side.

Yup, this is what I did too.

I tried using paper clips and wires instead of bolts (cuz I lost the bolts originally), and that didn't fan out too well.

No problems here after four years. Just pushed them in and I was done.
