This thread was not intended to cut each sponsors throats. Congrats you all have taken aim at someone in this thread.

I also think it is very bad taste for anyone to single out any sponsors. I suggest and I won't keep banging my head against the wall, but please let someone on s2ki board of directors know of your issue. If the same issue keeps coming up then there is a problem and we need to fix it. Sometimes, issues need not be hashed out on a public forum. We want to keep everyone happy.

cthree, myself, and krazik can be reached almost 24/7. We are all busy, but we will take the time to work with issues that arrise and come up with a workable solution.

In this case, the solution is simple.

My personal take on this issue is to come up with a solution to keep the private forsale items separate from the sponsor promotions.

Muz, we all know the quality of products you sell. I do not see this as a direct personal attack towards you or your products. I know some took this further than it possible should have.

If you have the products sell them, if you don't or cannot keep up with demand that is another issue.

I like to see separate GB products available. It keeps things simple and straight forward.

I noted my thoughts on the solution in the poll thread.

1 forum for forsale/wtb for private sellers
1 forum for GB's (sponsors only)
1 forum for Product Enhancement / Product Center.

Let's cut this short and make a decision. It is not worth killing each other.

I posted this because of my concern that I was pushing the promotional posts too far, not to cast aspersions on other sponsors. Reedz and I have been discussing this for several months and I thought it would be beneficial to air our concern. I made the post sound provocative precisely because I wanted to encourage debate and let strongly held feelings emerge. Our goal was to encourage a discussion on the question to guage whether our concern was justified, and if so, what could be done. That's why we call it a "forum." Some good ideas have already emerged and I'm sure more will come.

Bieg, you planted this idea in my head long ago, so you can't completely escape blame

I enjoy the revolutionary products that many of the sponsors produce, so please keep those polls and discussions in S2000 Talk. As a new member I really liked clicking on all the sponsor's thread in FS&GB and reading every single one of them. Now that I've been around here what, 3 whole months now , I find it hard to keep my sale thread on the front page so people will see it. I'm sure the sponsors also don't want to let their thread(s) drop off the front page and out of view, so I think splitting the forums into two categories would be the way to go.

One forum could be "For Sale By Owner" (or some other descriptive title) - for individuals
The other could be the Group Buy and Sponsor's Sale page

By the way, if you're looking for a brand new Spa Yellow Trunk Spoiler, check this thread out

The only problem is that cthree made up the rules for the sponsors that allowed them to promote their products in any of these threads and took their money. Unless you ALL agree to change the terms of your contract with cthree what you see is what you are going to get.

Personally I have no problem with that. I only brought it up back then because the rules of forums long ago and far away banned advertisement within the threads. cthree changed that rule here and so I have nothing to say about that subject anymore. Rules is rules. I am surprised that this subject was even brought up.

What still irks me to some degree are people who have relationships to vendors and receive free or highly discounted parts hawking them in the threads and confusing newbies. It reminds me of those "articles" you read in magazines touting something or another and then you read the fine print and realize it was an advertisement. When someone makes claims about a product it should be clear in the post that they received the product for free. I think it was clear in the "Mods you bought but wished you didn't" that some early claims people made were a little bogus.

I am not sure what you can do about any of this. Once the toothpaste is out of the tube it is hard to put it back in. cthree needed funding to keep this site going and he sold advertisement which in retrospect was the right thing to do. You have a good informative site here. You just need to be able to weed through the advertisements to see it. A small price to pay I feel.

I am surprised that you brought this up Rick as in the early days every other thread was about YOUR products. Reminds me about that saying about enviornmentalists,....they are the guys who already HAVE a cabin in the woods.

I've actually been told I don't post enough! It's difficult to find the time to post between correspondence with customers, general questions, web site, product production etc. etc.

I wouldn't want to spam the general chat with things for sale, but I would like to be able to post a thread announcing any new S2000 products or major changes.

As a sponsor, I would like my gear changed to vendor, sponsor etc.

The idea of having seperate forums for private sales and sponsor buys is an excellent idea. Too often the private seller gets lost in the bundle of multi-group buys. The only thing I find annoying its TTT (to the top) posts those should be banned.

I enjoy reading the posts from sponsers- especially when they contain photos of new products or proposed products.
