Who likes the carpet center console?
I don't know why everyone thinks the interior is so cheap - it is certainly much better than a Civic or an Accord. For the price of the car, I think it's more than adequate, particularly the '02's. I'm not one to "get off" on an awesome interior, though I can certainly appreciate say the new 7 series, but as much as I like the TT interior, I'd never consider purchasing that car as the underlying mechanicals are where the money was saved (rather buy a GTI and get a 24V VR6 than a turbo 1.8).
I actually like the carpet on the center console, unfortunately, my '02 will not be so equipped. Oh well . . .

Although the carpet isn't the highest quality, I'll have to agree that I do like it!
And anybody who is dissapointed in the quality of materials, go from a 2000 Mercury Cougar to this car, and you will appreciate the S2000 so much more.

Love the carpet in black. Wouldn't change it for the world (except for maybe a better quality carpet - but I really don't mind the OEM carpet.
I don't like the center console cover at all.
One of the predominant reasons I didn't get the red interior was the cheap appearance of the center console carpet. It looked like a washed-out pink to me. Yech.
Don't mean to offend any red interior owners with my comments. This is just honestly how I feel.
Cheers,

You guys that like the carpeted tunnel are clearly sick.
That cheesy carpet is the single largest detraction to the interior of the car, and Rick's console cover was the single greatest improvement I made to my car.

I've never had a problem with the carpet console. I've never had a problem with my stock floor mats. I've never had a problem with my half-size aeroscreen. I've never had a problem with my stock (well, titanium) shift knob. Maybe I'm just weird.
