Well that last post seems like the most rational one I've read yet! There's no way I'm gonna park my car with the top down and go into work for 8-10 hours. Sure if I'm going to some cafe where I can sit and sip on a an iced chai while I admire my rig from the outdoor veranda, I'll gladly leave it down. When I'm driving home from work, I like to drop the top, but I'm sure not going to struggle with that boot in the parking lot unless I get a whole lot better at those snaps behind the seat. Maybe it's just the new rear glass window tops, but the snaps are in a really difficult place to reach. On the other hand, I did put the boot on today, and it sure looks great.

I had the original recalled boot, and it was not only unsafe (seatbelts stick), but a supreme PITA to put on. I stored it in my cellar. Recently, I bought a new one from one of the people on this forum, and it is easy to put on, looks great, and keeps all kinds of trash and dirt out of the top well. I'm sold.

I always use it. It gets easy to put on over time.

So now my boot cover is stored in my closet in my apartment.

dlq04,

Hmm.... well, don't come crying to me when someone steals your seats.

No. But I've seen a "soft" boot cover that's ugly for normal use, but would be good to keep the sun off the soft top when sitting under the hardtop glass rear window.

the boot is really a piece of crap if you ask me...the revised one isn't any better, yes it does clean up the look of the car somewhat, but you would have thought they could have done a little better with it..and if you keep it in the trunk..there goes your storage space....

I think I have used it maybe 4 times in 2 years...I guess it does protect the hinges and all from road dust and grit that will eat away at them and make the top loose. that is the only good use I see for it..

I use my boot everyday !! I've placed it at the back of my work bench and it collects dust for me. It has been a pain to use and never stays hooked at the back. Hopefully that will be the next improvement that Honda makes.

I had my roof down (w/boot cover on for almost 5 months straight last summer.

During my two+ years of ownership I have never had anyone touch the vehicle inside or out. It gets parked every week day at work (in a basement car park) roof down. It has a fire extinguisher strapped to the passenger floor and no one has touched that either.

I don't even put the roof up to wash the car - it's pretty easy to control the hose so you don't spray inisde. If it gets a little spray then I just dry it down with a chamois.
