Of course, the biggest gain I can get at this point is learning to drive the corners better...that would save me more time per lap than FI.

I'd far rather spend the money on track time and training plus losing some weight off the car. I figure dialing in my line and my brake points etc. plus getting (in my dreams) 10% weight reduction would get me to the point I wish I were at.
I'm not getting FI because I can't afford it and it would void the warranty. But, I would if I could because I really hate those dang Mustangs pulling away from me on the straights

i personally, am a huge fan of NA cars. Just something about the power being linear as oppossed to the sudden thrust of a turbo or charger. I do understand that you can put a smaller turbo that will spool up faster and lower in the rpm's, if i was to go FI, that would be the way. I dont remember what its called, but the blower that comptech uses is also one that actually works better at the higher rpm's. I think the other type is called a roots or something. I would like to see a blower like that on the S.
above and beyond all of this, my first choice, if could afford it, would be that gorgeous spoon motor. Im sure it costs 2x as much as any FI and probably doesnt put out nearly as much power as a FI, but i believe that set up will yield the best and most over all results. and of course be th emost reliable for all the engine and drivetrain components. something about that yellow valve cover under my yellow hood would def tickle me the right way. by the way, anyone by chance no how much the motor costs?????

I an NA application, there is just more respect.... Period!
But honestly, it really matters what your going to use the car for. Most people like to race the car at the track, which in my opinion FI just is to powerful and hard on the car. But if your going to just race in a straight line, get the FI.

I have a split personality on this. (Geez, I hope I don't offend those with multiple personalities out there. Oh, what the heck, they can fight about it among himself.)
Would NOT because:
1. Very expensive.
2. Makes it tough to sell the car later and would never get your money out of it.
3. Long term reliability would keep me up nights. (Is something going to break?)
4. The extra performance gain may not be worth the money spent.
5. Kiss waranty bye-bye.
WOULD because:
1. I like to have hands on with the car. I'd install the thing myself.
2. The extra "kick" would be nice. (For passing and leaving tailgaters in the dust.)
3. The S2000 is like a Civic on Steroids. This would make it an S2000 on steroids.

** Just like the thread on if the S2K needs a 6th gear. Whether the car needs it or not isn't the issue for me. When someone askes me what kind of gear box the car has and adds, "A 5 speed?" When I say 6, their eyes bug out. It would not have been nearly as enticing for me to buy the car if it only had a 5 speed. This is how I would see FI. What have you got in there? It's blown! Need I say more?

I like the way the s2000 comes stock. In fact I love it so much the way it is I couldn't justify 6 grand to change anything about the way it is. So street drievable yet so trackable at the same time. Really an unbelievable car the way it comes. The engineers behind this car didn't want a turbo to make the power, they wanted to impress the world and do it the n/a way. I feel the same way about modding. Maybe when there's better n/a parts such as great cams or other internals then i'll start really investing money in making it quicker. Don't get me wrong here, I'm sure i'd sh!t a brick if I drove a turbo s2k and have ball...but what it comes down to is that I plan to keep this car for a long period of time, and I want to keep everything running in pristine condition for years and years to come. I think adding a turbo to this car would certainly affect my long-term plans and i'd be too paranoid everytime I was redlining the car through the gears which would be hindering my overall enjoyment and also my justification for spending the bucks. I still admire turbo s2000's for what they are: insanely quick beasts....but it just wouldn't be the way for me to go.
My guess is that if you asked anyone who has used a Turbo or Super charger on their S2K about why they did it the answer would be because it increased the power by 100+ HP. That's why I would do it. Thus far, there isn't any way without resorting to FI to increase HP by any significant amount. You might eke 25 extra HP by doing several mods. Hopefully in the future we'll all have the option of getting significant power in many different ways, but right now the only option is FI. I'm a NA kind of guy so I'm not planning on installing any kind of FI but if some other method of kicking the power up a notch or two doesn't come out within the next couple of years I may have to consider FI.
