I'm a NA fan !!!! I'll wait for Honda to release an i-VTEC F20C, I prefer the application of smooth and predictable power. Honda supposedly has a 2.4l for the new 2003 Accord(European model). Maybe well see an S2400 in the near future! The NA S2000 requires a certain skill level to drive the car fast. I enjoy that challenge. I would think an FI S2000 would be harder drive with much less predictability and maybe resulting in more accidents! Will the S02s be blamed for this too? As for stomping the gas pedal and going as fast as I could in a straight line. I got that out of my system with my first car, a 1965 GTO. The car weighed 3200 lbs. and with my mods I had about 450hp. It was great fun, but something was always breaking. The car got to be very expensive. I suppose you just have to get that out of your system and do it just once. And today you get a huge amount of power with FI mod. Honda has done such a great job with this engine, that is in wringing out all the hp they could. About the only option left to really increase hp is to add FI.

I bought my car as a hobby/tinker/take it apart car... so the SC was a cool winter project to keep me busy in the garage... Plus, the continued issues with the SC kit keep my mechanical skills sharp... If I had to do it again, you all know what I would have done

Maybe some people if given the chance would put a dormer on Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water" house and consider it OK.

(1) So, for everyone, what are your reasons, SPECIFICALLY, for wanting to boost your F20C?

Damn it, leave Bieg out of this for once and quit focusing on his retort! It's simply a matter of choice. How about something new and unheard of.................respect for one anothers opinion! Geez!! It is what it is, a wonderful automobile just as it is. I say enjoy it anyway you can, but don't piss and moan when something goes wrong.

Cheers

Jeff

PS. My prediction for this thread is it's all about freedom so as long as we give each other the FREEDOM to speak and honor this, then it will be free to continue.

This talk about Soichiro Honda thinking that FI was 'dishonourable'? - wrong.

Remember why Honda dropped out of F1 those years back. They banned Turbos. Why did Honda drop out of CART? something familiar here?

Honda used to be all FOR turbo route for gaining more power - just in their racing engines. Apparently they wanted to achieve 1100 hp per litre figure with a 660cc engine in their F1 cars - but when they banned turbocharging in F1 - they had to pull out.

Face it, FI IS the only way to go when u want speed. However, NA setup allows you to enjoy the car more in my opinion. No snap oversteer in the middle of the bend due to the inevitable turbo lag - the very reason Honda doesn't produce turbo vehicles.

Then again, I wouldn't mind a stock 550bhp s2000 .....

Good point, realthing.

And don't forget that Soichiro used superchargers on his early race cars...

For those who believe that Honda believed in FI cars how many did he build to sell to the public even in the heyday of turbo mania? They don't like forced induction.

As far as their racing they will go with whatever it will take to win. They left F-1 because after 9 years and winning 6 championships they had nothing left to prove. Investing in a completly new engine was not cost effective for them at that time. They left CART because of CART changing the rules at the last minute in an effort to placate Toyota. They have no interest in running in a series where there are restrictions on RPM.
