Why are the body panels so weak
Has anyone else noticed the panels on the S2000 seem somewhat weak- especially behind the rear wheels. While you wax them they flex in a good inch easily with any reasonable pressure.
I guess this was intentional and makes the car lighter...but I think maybe a more rigid PVC would be preferred...back there especially since they don't appear to be anchored so anything solid near the wheel well.
I remember my Dad's old corvette with its fiberglass panels felt very solid- of course it didn't flex at all and would splinter instead- but lets just hope I don't get in a situation where flexing my wheel well is necessary.
Also, does anyone know of a good way to clean the wheel well of road crud? Specifically cement/lime dust and road tar? The well is coated with a white layer of "dust" and it doesn't wash out.

I hit a post which scrapped down the rear wing, over the wheel arch. Actually did very little damage, as the panel flexed inwards, and then popped back out after I got away from the post. It can have it's benefits as well.....
Some kid driving a beat up Windstar hit the right rear part, and all I had to do was pop it back out, put unfortunately, there were some scratches, but other than that, I was very satisfied at how it just rebounded from the hit.
