Why does everyone hate the plastic rear window so much?
My window is hazed up to shit. I don't really car usually since my top is down. But what breaks my heart is when I walk up the S. It hurts the image of the car. I need to get my hands on some plexus.

As many of you have said here the answer is obvious.
The plastic window only gets stuffed (i.e. becomes hazy, hardens, yellow etc.) when it is exposed to the elements. So, do what I do and never expose it to the elements. My roof is permanently down and the window lies snug under the tonneau cover.
I am sure all the MX5s (Miatas) we see driving around with rotten windows are the ones where people drive around with the top up 90% of the time and, if not, insist on putting the roof up when they park out in the sun.
For gawdsakes what did they buy a convertible for if they want to treat it this way ? It never ceases to amaze me the people who pay a premium for a convertible and then insist on hardly ever putting the roof down (mainly women, BTW, who do not want to spoil their hairdos
).
For those of you who bought the car despite the fact that is a convertible then do us all a favour and go out and buy that hardtop and bolt it permanently into position.

My car is in-doors 23hrs per day apart from weekends. I have now got some decent cleaner stuff from Honda and it looks OK. For the first few months I was nervous touching it after all the bad posts.
I don't mind a plastic window - as long as it is as good as other ones on the market, which clearly it is not.
My friends Audi Cab is 4-5years old - and his still looked better than mine - even when it was new!!

My major beef with Honda on the top design is that they had the perfect model on which to base the S2k top...the Miata. If Mazda can figure out that it's customers prefer a glass rear window for ease of maintenance and longevity, then Honda should have learned from that lesson at the start. Then they could have designed the car with a top that uses a full size glass window rather than waiting 2 years and re-engineering the top alone so it can accommodate a 2/3 size glass window.
