Why isn't the search feature being used?
Well, you have a very good point. ALthough I have not been here long, i do not mind the repetitive questions, but some questions, like the installing a glass window on non -02's gets tiring quick. But lets say we are talking about other things, more specifcally perfomance mods. New products are constantly coming out for the S2K. A previous discussion of CAI's might not mention ones released in the last month. Although ours sponsors
usually tell us about their new products, the re-asking of old questions could also be a valuable tool for fellow s2k owners. Just saying don't be too quick to bash (i know this was not your intention, but what you said could be taken wrong) the newbies who just re-ask questions. I guess my point boils down to a subjective look at each and every question that is reasked. Just my .02. Mike

Yes, this absolutely the truth. There are thousands of posts on every topic. The search engine is ok but I think we need a single place for all the info aka Library. The problem is the FAQ/CAQ is not nearly complete enough.
Maintaining the FAQ is a lot of work but if we could get 10 or 20 volunteers to document answers to common questions then "read the FAQ" would be more meaningful. It doesn't take much work if it's done in little pieces.
So how 'bout it? Can we get 10-20 people to summarize common questions, maybe once a week? It's not hard. Simply copy and paste the question and answer out of the forums and into an article (a post basically). It might take a few minutes to clean it up, spell check and so forth. It's just 30 minutes a week which is a full time job for 1 or 2 but with 20 it would be easy.
We have a forum setup for FAQ Writers. Just post a thread in there with the answer/question and we'll take it from there.
If you'd be willing to help, send me a PM and I'll get you setup to access the FAQ Writer forum. Come on, it's just one post a week. With 20 FAQ Writers creating 1 FAQ a week each we would have FAQs for 500 question/answers in just 6 months.
I promise to do a better job of telling new members to read FAQ before posting questions if you guys can give them something to read when they get there.
