not true most states u have to get an emissions test every two years no matter if u have OB2 or not.

 

yeh, but you don't do the smog test (which I understood as the tail-pipe test) on a car equipped with OBD II.

Of course you have to do emissions test.

well i know on my prelude back in texas i didnt have my cat on and the car didnt pass, but when i put it back on it did pass. maybe some states are just different with thier testing.

 

all I know is that California is hell where all good cars goto die. Like a car prison.

 

Search for the remove resonator thread from '04 or '05. There is a good long one with a bunch of people who have done it. The results were more or less just what you were looking for.

 

yeah california is in a place of its own on that kind of shit, i hated living there and would never go back.

but after i get my car back im going to get the resonator cut out on my car, it sounds really good. if u dont want to buy cat back exhaust like me then go for it. but if u have it cut out and still want more i wouldnt get a test pipe cause it sounds really bad with out the resonator on. there is clips on this on youtube.

and i wouldnt drill holes in the mufflers too cause they will not last long with holes in them, it will sound better but u will just have to turn around and buy some new ones anyways.

his sounds GREAT

He cut off his mufflers and repalced them with dynomax mufflers and got to keep his stock tips. Better sound and lots less weight.

 

so any sound clip of res removed and muffler replaced like the above guy?
