Default Why is the Rx8 so much cheaper than S2k?

One thing I have noticed while looking for a new car is that Rx8s are considerably less expensive than an S2k. I'm thinking its because there are so many on the road, maybe its reliability... Opinions?

its slower than ours too, but the chassis/handling is supposed to be great and make the car.

my theory is that it's a newer design with newer techniques, and that has helped the cost drop while providing good performance.

I like the RX8. Wish it had more power. I think it looks good too. But I am still waiting for the next RX7.

before i bought an s2000 i drove EVERYTHING....and if you want to know why its cheaper, i suggest you drive it. Although the price is appealing after getting behind the wheel you will see why its cheaper.

They have no longevity. Plan on replacing the motor. Don't void your warranty.

The Rx-8 is cheap because it's not that competitive in the sports car market. It will get crushed at both the track and the drag strip by cars like the S2k, Z, 06-07 WRX, etc.

No1 wants to pay first class money for a second class sports car. Thus the reason they are so much cheaper.

I've driven both, the Rx8 has a lot more going on in the interior, the S2k keeps it simple. As far as performance goes i didnt feel too much difference, both engines had to be wound out, both felt like go carts.... oh yeah some of the Rx8's for like less than $15k come with NAV and everything. The price diffrence baffles me..
