Thanks for the insight, Rick -- I have a better understanding of why folks maybe selling their S2000s.
Anyway, I went to Hersons last evening and spoke with Stephan. They do sell at MSRP, they supposedly do have one of the best Honda techs in the country, they are cool with mods (even sell and install them) and they do let you test drive (if you are serious). Overall, an excellent first experience and much better than anything I have experienced with Audi -- kudos to Stephan.
They have the car that I am looking for -- silver/black. I was going to think about white until I saw the red interior in person -- a little too much for my taste. I am going to try to pull this deal off this week if at all possible.
I want to thank everyone who responded to this thread with the excellent information -- I look forward to joining the family soon.

I love my car but I do think many who buy it are unsatisfied. It needs to be driven to be enjoyed, it's a stern ride, and it doesn't have much storage or shoulder room. That said, it's perfect for me but:
There are always several for sale in Autoweek
There are always a few in the Post
They are always available at Carmax
That spells "high turnover" to me.

Mike,
As you've discovered, it is sometimes difficult to test drive the car. That compunds the problem of people not really understanding what the car is about (stiff ride, noisy, etc.) prior to purchase. I love the car, but it really isn't for everyone. And we have had numerous frequent posters who had the car and liked it, but sold because of changes in insurance cost, family size, concern over having to keep a close eye on the car, etc. I just had all 4 wheels stolen, and I used to park my jetta ANYWHERE. One thing I dislike about the car isn't HMC's fault- the car attracts attention, which isn't always wanted.

I did have a chance to test drive it and it DEFINITELY is for me. I am looking to pick mine up sometime next week -- I am really, realy excited. I never even coonsidered buying a used one -- I want to be the one to break my car in and know every little detail about it -- I can be a bit anal!
Too bad I will miss the Ashville event -- maybe next time.
Jim Schmidt --
Where do you live in Laurel? I grew up in Laurel and much of my family is still in the area. Just curious...
