wow... this an entire different approach.
Wait a minute. You're the one who started this thread, and you asked if the argument could be settled. It's a different question than the normal "which is better" thing, so of course the answer is different. It's not a different approach at all. It's an answer to the question you asked. You just asked a different question, so of course the answer is going to be different.

LOL, you almost got me confused there for a bit.

Most of the guys are saying this or that is better, and that's not even what you asked. I'm thankful to be the one who has been different and actually made a (possibly lame) attempt to answer the question that was raised.

Who else wants to be different and answer the question that was asked, rather than talking about other stuff?

YES THE WAR WILL CONTINUTE ON!!!
Now THAT's WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.
Right or wrong, at least you've answered the original question.
The "war" will go on long after we're old dead and buried.

Anyone who can't accept that the performance of their stock S2000 is not far removed from every other stock S2000 on the road needs to go FI. Simple fix, no more need to argue.

Some people have an emotional need to feel that they have a superior car (TV, stereo, home, or what ever), and there will always be people who think that their BMW, S2000, or Porsche represents a no-compromise design. This kind of need and/or belief is telling, so I won't say any more about it, except to say that it is one ofs the reasons these stupid arguments will never go away. Too much vanity combined with too little knowledge.

The oddest thing to me is when somebody with an AP2 tries to imply that I'm jealous of the performance of his car just becasue I express a preference for the AP1. It's odd, and funny (and dumb), because my car has 80-90 more WHP than any stock S2000, and the handling has been tweaked to better suit my driving style, so what "performance" is it that is supposed to be making me jealous? That's another .

If people could leave their vanity at home there would not be any debate, but vanity blinds some to the extent that they can't see past the end of their own nose.

It's not just a car thing. It's human pride and vanity at it's most raw, and you see it everywhere. Facts are irrelevant and only serve to agitate the people who find them objectionable.
That's worth using in ever subsequent AP1 vs. AP2 debate from now on. Too bad it is too large to be placed in a signature.

Very nice post

AP1>AP2
And the reason why... we AP1 owners are the only ones capable of wearing the best T-shirt of all.

Read it and weep openly you AP2 people...

What debate?

I can get Toyota information, but not Honda. There's nothing kept in the dark if you work for them.
HA! Nothing kept in the dark?

My former roomate was a senior engineer for Honda who worked on the ridgeline and accord. Whenever I asked him about what was happening with the S2k he told me that he had a better chance of finding out what was going on in the CIA than the S2k program.

That shoe does not fit me I'll tell ya that right now.

For me I honestly don't care which version of our wonderful S2000 is faster or has more torque or has a better interior or options or colors or whatever. For me it all boils down to the engine, I prefer the 9,000 engine! 8,200 is nothing special when you look at manufacturers like BMW and many, many others. However, 9 grand, that's unique and bold, and that alone is why I'm an AP1 Fan! It has nothing to do with pride or vanity. And in addition I honestly don't care who prefers which one, I don't have ill feelings one way or another regarding their passion for one or the other or what their passion is seated in, I only know I prefer my 9 grand engine.

AP1 vs. AP2 is like Israel vs. Palestine, Yankees vs. Red Sox, Duke vs. UNC. It's been going on for years and will continue to go on forever.
