Default windshield weatherstrip peice

Hey S2ki i just had my windshield replaced and the molding looks different than the one they took off. they called it an inverted molding, my other windshield had the regular fat looking molding. which one is my car supposed to have?? this new inverted molding looks like crap!!!

You should have the molding you paid for, whatever that is.

the one they installed looks like crap, it doesnt fit right, is all crinkled at the top, and it not what came off my car. in general it just looks worse than before asthetically.


can someone take a picture of their windshield molding so i can see what molding is supposed to come from the factory because the glass company guys are arguing this is the correct molding and its definetely not!

When you get a new windshield, you need a new gasket, and that molding is usually PPG, not Honda OEM. Frankly, I think PPG works better and its a bit thicker, but you'd need to specify what you want when you get the windshield. If yours is wrinkled, then there's an issue - post a pic.

when I got my windshield done recently they used a new Honda molding, not aftermarket, also made sure they used a green coloured glass like the OEM.

If I recall correctly, the OEM weatherstrip is rather expensive.

This could be why they went for an alternative.
