The winter blues thread...
No VSA, no drivey in the snow. Besides, I have my CTS-V for snow duty.
To answer the OP, here's how I cope with not being able to shift at 9k for 4-5 months of the year:

Once a week I watch this...and try to learn where my feet should be when I rev-match.

Mine is in storage Dec to April, but when we get a nice dry sunny day I will take it for a drive, that happens maybe 2 times a month. Roads have to be perfectly dry and temps on the warming side of freezing. I don't like leaving the engine in one spot all winter, I will drive it for a good 20 minutes to get the oil hot enough to burn off moisture, and I run the air conditioner for a good 10 minutes. Feels great, like getting a glass of water after being in the desert for a while.
I left mine tagged to drive on nice winter days but we havent had any. Its complete crap out there. If its dry and nice i can hear salt bouncing off the fender wells of my daily driver so theres no way im getting rock chips on my fresh bumper i just painted few months back.
Get alll bundled up in your ski bibs, winter coat, gloves and a hat. Get in your winter beater and head on over to you local state park, national forest, county park, whatever. Pick a hiking trail and go for a nice hike in the snow.
After a couple of hours of that, go back to town, stop by your local pub and order yourself up a burger or a hot sandwich and a cold brew. Enjoy that and then go home and watch a good movie.
Stop whining.
Enjoy life.

Enjoy life.I cope by busting out the Subaru and heading to the mountains for some good skiing.
Well you can tell I live CA because my definition of winter weather that stops me from driving it is "light drizzle." And if I go even one wet weekend without getting behind the wheel I get really anxious.
I say we all buy Hummers as a second vehicle and speed up this global warming farce that the media would have us believe is going boil us alive. Maybe it needs a kickstart? Snow this season in what.. 49 of 50 states? Brrr.
