Go to your local auto supply store and get a spray can of Silicone that says something about it being safe for rubber.

OH! That kind of silicone. I was thinking of another kind and couldn't figure out how to get her to lean over far enough to reach the wiper blade on my SUV...

When I wash my car I wipe off the blades, usually get some black gunk off of them. The OEM blades do last a long time, they are made from a high quality silicone/rubber compound. I've always found the OEM blades do a great job, I gave up trying to find a better wiper blade than the Honda OEM's a long time ago because I couldn't find one.
