My local dealership couldnt even sell me a proper oil filter for my S2000. Yet the dealership in the next city has given me EXCELLENT service. If you care enough about your car make sure the people you are letting work on it care just as much!

live and learn.

Most Honda dealers simply don't see enough S2000s to be proficient at fixing them. That's why either you go to a dealer with someone who knows Ss, or a good independent shop. After all, that's one thing this site is for!

The thing about dealerships giving shotty work is that dealership techs ofter are not car enthusiast. They see it as a normal, profitable, job. At your job do you give 110%? It's when you have a car enthusiast work on your vehicle that you fully get the experience you think you should have. I was a tech for almost four years before I decided to try different things and I strived to work on the vehicles I serviced and repaired like they were my own. If you have nice interior I would put more than one floor mat down, and even one on the seat and take off my work shirt just to pull it into my bay. If you see cars as art you will treat them better than you do when you see them as dollars.

I'm confused. Are you pissed because you say they broke it and didn't tell you or they didn't tell you about it assuming they found it already broken?

If you're bitching they didn't tell you about it being broken then it's really not their problem to fully inspect everything to make sure there is nothing else to fix. They fixed what was at hand. Also they would have charged you $75 to install that "$10 part".

If they broke it then you should have raised hell about it being the second time they messed it up and demanded to speak to a manager. You could have gotten some money taken off the repair bill.

Why would they not inform me of this while replacing the transmission.

I'll be honest, we're not on the same page because I didn't read the first post. Just felt like popping in and saying hi!
Fixed that all up for ya.
