The worst thing about an S2k....
It looks like we have taken the discussion off topic here.
But since the topic is about what you don't like about the S, I think what some of you are desiring for is a 4 door version of the S2k, so you can have your family and a fun sports car too.
Maybe 1 more year. Look at those dimensions, 53.5" height and 72.8" width are sports car/sedan like dimensions. It sounds like this will be marketed similarily to the RX-8.

I am aware most are saying this will be the next TSX. I doubt it, look at the way Honda is marketing this thing and the dimensions on this thing is shorter, wider, lower, more aggressive than TSX.

The one thing I am not to keen on is that the Mazda MX 5, will come in a hardtop convertable next year. Wish Honda had done the same for the S2000 years ago.

It would also mess up balance. I recall reading somewhere that the S handles better with the top DOWN, not UP. I suspect this is possible because with the top down, there is extra weight (a couple of kilos?) that is deployed lower and closer to the rear of the car instead of being closer to the centre and higher up (thereby raising the CG of the car)
A hardtop would weigh at least 20 to 30 kg extra, and that kind of weight over the rear end of the S2000 will most certainly upset the fine balance that has made the S2000 the high-performance David that has, in almost 7 years, taken on the Goliaths of the automotive world (e.g. Porsche Boxsters, Lotus Elises, etc). I can't see any real benefit to having a folding hard top, aside from putting it closer to a Boxster or an SLK, and no one here needs to be reminded of the psychographic profiles associated with these cars

I like the S2000 but can't get over the Ricer image... and being asian.. it makes it only more painfully so... when I return to the US.. i have no idea what car to get...

I don't know about "the worst thing", but things that stand out to me that need improvement are:
-Power (300 HP outa do it)
-Seats (leather wears easily, not supportive enough for spirited driving, and piping squeaks when seat belts drags across it)
-Paint (chips too easily)

Dollar-for-dollar, the S2000 offers much better value for money. I'd get an Elise only if I wasn't planning to use the car as a daily driver, or if I track the car often.
That said, I'd say that in the hands of a good driver, the S really gives the Elise a run for their money. Just ask the guys in S2ki -- how many of us chose to buy an S over an Elise, and why? Just imagine the number of Elises that weren't sold because people like us bought the S instead
