The C6-R competes and wins in GT class competition. The S2K could never do that. It's a different car for different tastes and one helluva bang for performance buck. Drive it and you'll understand. But I drive an S2K cuz I like it more.

Damn, what kind of mods you running to make a Z06 embarassed? That'd be awesome to see the jaw of a Z06 driver drop with an S (in a straightline of course), lol.
The question is pointless because the story didn't happen. Nobody here has embarrassed a Z06 in an S2000. Stock or modified. On a road course perhaps, at least it's in the realm of plausability.

It appears the poster has a supercharger. Big whoop!!! Now he has 200 ft. of torque. Compared to what...a Z06 between 400 and 470 depending on the year. That's double or nearly double and a half of his S.

We haven't even begun to discuss the difference in horsepower. Even giving him 350, he's down anywhere between 50 and 155.

What happened was that the Z06 driver was changing his CD's when the poster decided to race him at the stop light. He didn't know he was racing.

If the story turns out to be true, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was talking to somebody that has 10's of thousands of dollars to put into an S2000 engine.

Wow, I didn't realize there was somebody on here who knew absolutely everything! Perhaps before you start jumping to conclusions you should carefully re-read what was stated.

And, by the way, the Z06 is between 385 and 505 depending on the year.

What are you smokin?

Corvette coverage for me is WAY more expensive than the S. State Farm treats my S like a Civic basically.

Going from a 97 civic 4 door to an 02 S2K cost me $30 more / month. Not a big increase considering the difference in the value of the two vehicles and the potential for an accident in the S vs the Civic.
ya I though the insurance on a C5 would be more than the S

too all those people who is all about the C5 z06 why? 50hp more that's why?
there is minor diffrence between both.

very minor mods on C5 will kill a z06..

but I don't care about that I just want the dam t tops

Well I re-read it and came to the same conclusion?
I mean what else could you do to, "making him regret mocking you"?
Because you had a cuter girlfriend or something?

Thank you. That was the same thing I was thinking. How do you make somebody regret mocking you? By not beating them in a race? By reving your car to 9000?

How exactly did you make the Z06 regret mocking you? 2 of us would like to know now.

I think the S is more fun to drive, which is why I bought it over a C5. If I were looking for a pure track car, it would have gotten more serious consideration, but I do 90%+ of my driving on the street, and the S2K is MUCH more fun to drive than any Corvette I've driven (though I haven't driven the C6 Z06).

Insurance on the S is also ridiculously cheap. I pay less for insurance on the S2K than I do on my Saab 9-3 Aero, and by a huge margin.
