Would you want "syncrorev" in the S?

Too tired to heel/toe ? How much effort does it take? If you're that tired, you shouldn't be behind the wheel.

I know what you meant...it read funny. My vote is to pass on syncro-rev-matching. I'm also against electronic throttles, adaptive cruise control, self-parking, automatic transmissions, paddle shifters, etc etc etc.

I vote to keep cars old school....but with air bags.
+1

On all except self-parking, one day you'll get old, and some young kid will hate you for bumping his car... Everyone should have self parking and, for that matter, a car that could fold up into their briefcase..

Wouldn't seek it out or pay extra for it. It is all about having fun, I am paying (not getting paid) to race, so I don't give a crap how fast the car is. It is all about how well I drive.

I am not mindlessly shunning technology, either. I love my OBDII, radial tires, fuel injection, emissions controls, and on and on. They all make it more fun to drive every day.

it's about as attracting as heated steering wheels IMO.
You're comparing a creature comfort to something that is performance oriented. Lol.

syncromesh = syncrorev

Same shit, different pile.

I cannot believe we're still talking about this stupid point. Fuel injection is a waste, ABS is a joke, seatbelts are for bad drivers and air bags are for pussies.

Ok, I said it. Let's go live in 1950...
i_heart_my_DB8's analogy was referring to syncromesh making daily driving easier by eliminating double clutching whereas syncrorev doesn't eliminate any steps from shifting. Most people I know don't rev-match in manual cars, they just ease out on the clutch. I see syncrorev as a marketing ploy to appeal to folks who read the Road and Track articles on how cool paddle Ferrari's autoblip on downshifts.

And some of us are backwards, so what. Get a paddle shifter for technology; it'll be way faster than some manual box with syncrorev. Everyone has their own ideas on the optimal amount of technology. It's like asking people if they'd take a Ferrari with the paddle shifters, a gated shifter or automatic. I'd choose gated shifter.

Would the people who said no be happy if the S didn't have syncromesh at all and need to double clutch and rev match even on up shifts??

Cool feature... For a Nissan.
I want to test drive the 370, haven't gotten around to it.

I'll stick with the S though.

and my point, as simple as it was this...

Both technologies lower the skill required to drive a car well. Why people are complaining about that is just beyond me.

Actually this has gone to the point of being a silly conversation.

I haven't tried it myself, but C/D cliams that the "Auto-syncro" feature of Z works great.

I wish S had it. I am sure I would have it on most of the time.

People who say "no" should think about removing syncro's from your gearboxes. That would definitely make your car more "raw", just how you like it. Syncro's are for wussies like me.
