I got a pretty high MPG this week. I got about 28 on half street and the other freeway. I got 290 on my tank. It filled a little over 10 gallon. I was surprise. Just saying

 

Haha, funny you talk about, cuz recently I got curious about what the published numbers were, and I've seen like 22 mph on Road & Track, and I know others getting lower. I don't know how it gets so low, since I do average 24 mph at the worst, all streets, and like 29 mph best with most freeway, but I get like 24 when I do lots of canyon driving too... I'm not complaining, higher is better! I'm just tryin to hit the 30 mph mark...

 

were you doing the 1-2-4-6 or the 1-4-6 shifts to achieve that. Please tell us your secret or what you did that allowed you to get that kind of mileage.

 

yeah, how the heck do you guys get that type of gas mileage?? the best i've done is 18mpg. for the past couple months i've been averaging 16.5mpg--this even though i've adopted a more "calm" style of driving an try to keep the rpm below 3K when i'm cruising.

 

I consistently get 275 mi per tank, even with the whine

 

Drove up to Reno last week, got 28+ with the top down the whole way.

 

I have that funny whine too, and its murder on my gas tank, even though I boost very seldom. I get 245-250, on 11 gallons of gas. But its mostly city hops.

 

I get about 270's for about 11 gallons.
Mostly city traffic.
And hit once every 20miles.
Just can't resist heh.
And i shift threw all the gears.
I just don't vtec in first since i am worried about second grind.
Even though it hasn't happened unless it's my fault.

In my case, changing to Castrol Synthetic(from regular oil) has given me an extra couple of miles also.
