Well...I was pondering the same thing before I got my S2000! With me though...the S is my only car (for now)...I am going to get a used car as my daily driver...but my fiance has an Acura MDX...so it has enough room if we are going out with other people!
You have to think of what you want...I always wanted a 2 seater conv that was fast...in other words...the S...if it's gonna be your only car...and you dont have another one...get the WRX...
Me...I am also looking into the WRX for another car...but I am going to wait the year and get the Lancer EVO VII when it comes out...already have the first deposit in florida...$1000...dunno what color...dont care...

But...do what you want...and NO OFFENSE fellas...but asking us isn't justifying what you really wanna do...that's my .02

What I would really like to do is have both cars.

I would drive the WRX as the daily and keep the S2000 in the garage with race tires mounted : )

Frankly - I think not having a turbo is a greater plus (you said it was a con). I'm a reformed turbo guy and I hated the uneven nature of performance associated with turbo cars. There is a HUGE performance difference dictated by heat/humidity (even w/intercooler). Normally aspirated cars do not suffer from the same variance.

Also - I like RWD over AWD for various reasons I won't get into here.

It is a very subjective question, the most important thing is how the car feels to you. They are really apples and oranges. My alternative to the S2000 was an Audi S4 but I went the S2000 route because an S4 looks just like any other A4 (for the most part). They are very different cars. I don't have kids, I just have a wife so the need for extra diaper space is negated.....

S2kRob,

I agree with your disagreement.

Did you see my post above about the WRX guy at the Texas World Speedway I encountered?

-As a side note, had I gotten the WRX, I know the one car I would absolutely love to smoke is the S4 and all those dudes on Audiworld who thinks their car is faster than shit.

I'm just looking for a little action. That was as mild as I could put it. Sorry for coming off like a little pric. that surely is not my intention.

Unfortunately I have a bad tendancy of sounding like a cocky bastard. If he really doesn't want to race, then that's fine. My offer is open to anyone who is down.

Thanks for listening,

Pat L.

My girlfriend has an '02 WRX wagon(Silver) and I have an '00 S2K (Blk/Blk). While I was shopping around for my S2K, I drove her car regularly for 3 months or so. I will say this, both cars are really ridiculously quick for LA traffic; you can get going so fast so quickly, you are on people's bumpers constantly. That said, the WRX and S2K feel very close in terms of off the line acceleration. Taking corners definitely shows the differences. The WRX grips with the AWD system while fighting the body roll whereas the suspension of the S2K just begs to be hammered as there is no roll I can detect. Both cars are absolutely worth every penny and are great fun to drive and have aluminum hoods too! I do not feel like I've driven the S2K anywhere near its' limit yet (only had it 6 weeks) whereas I really tested almost every aspect of the WRX. The shifter and steering feel broken in the WRX compared to the perfection of the S2K. Seats are both good, but no leather in the WRX. WRX stock stereo is good, S2K is very average. I like the looks of both cars as they are very unique, even in LA. Get both!
