Default XM is in again

Well, finally got my XM installed into the S. I had it in my old eclipse but never got around to the install when I bought my S2k.

Put the antennae on the dash right by the window. Most people don't know its there unless I point it out, and the reception is fine.

I used the Alpine unit... made sense, me having an apline XM ready HU and all. I did hear that starting very soon that the descrambler box things will come from XM directly and you'll have to buy converters for which ever HU you use. Supposedly Sony, alpine, and i think kendwood won't be producing their own any longer.

Which will suck for alpine people who don't have the old unit. With the alpine unit you can use the AiNet and daisy chain a CD changer off it. Can't do that with the one XM is making. Kinda screws up AiNet sigh... wait I have the alpine unit, I'm still happy.

Alpine just came out with a HU that has the XM receiver built in, ...no more remote tuner necessary. Crutchfield has them. Haven't checked compatibility with the S.
