We've also witnessed some controversial changes by the administrators (the latest rule about no selling in your local forum is absolute bullshit in my opinion), so this too, adds to the problem.

wow this really sucks. I haven't been on the site for long & have owned my s2000 for even less time, but even I realized how valuable xviper was. In the year leading up to my purchase I browsed countless topics in UTH and Xviper was there on every one. He was probably the most valuable member I have seen on any car forum. Thank you for everything you have contributed to this site & thank you again for being so kind as to not remove it!! I haven't even begun to absorb everything you have posted.
I don't know anything about these sigs, nor do I care. What is alarming though, is a general lack of respect in America today. While I love my country, I feel that, as a nation, we are lacking in humility. I will not pick a side in this debate, but I do think people should have shown respect to Xviper for all his contributions and to the person who made those sigs. It is very unfortunate that some people's stuborness/arrogance cost us such a valuable member. I agree X may have stepped a bit out of line, but who could blame him? Thank you for everything you have done for us XViper.

X has contributed a tremendous amount to the community and I hope he will reconsider his decision to leave. I've lost count how many times I have referenced his DIY topics and explanations. I'm sure it must be frustrating at times, but the as time goes on, a smaller, closer knit group of enthusiasts become a much broader, more diverse group.
Personally, I think X's comments were pretty harsh. Perhaps he read more into the post from DB8 than was intended. Maybe he had an unusually bad day - who knows. I thought DB8's initial comments expressed his differing opinion quite respectfully.
I think sigs on open forum would be nearly impossible to maintain "ownership" of, but good form should prevent people from "stealing" the creative work of another. At least on this board. I'm also not sure why he isn't required to be a sponsor here to solicit and collect money for his services. Clearly his work is creative and appreciated by many people.
Perhaps they can resolve this between them through PM's and the Mods can close these threads.

Anyways, thanks for all the help xviper. I learned a lot from your post. You'll be missed and good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Lots of us care. Let's not forget Dave's humor as well. One funny dude sometimes. Damn, sounds like he died!!!
Dave:
If you ever get to Cincinnapolis, let the local community know, we'd love to have dinner and/or a with you. You can always use the "other" site to let us know. Anyway, safe travels.

Is this thread his way out of not having to apologize for going off unprovoked? It boils down to respect. Obviously he has none for people that disagree with him. Of course he knows a lot about the s2000 and that makes it ok when he insults and disrespects us
