what's very sad is that a lot of folks who have been here a while understand the impact of Dave

I recall when dave22 had a problem with his car and you made yourself available on a Sunday to walk us through the issue - you in Canada and us in Virginia Beach - that was a long phone call. That was way beyond the call of duty, and there are a few of us in the Mid-Atlantic who will never forget it. And of course, everything you told us to do worked.
I doubt that there is ONE person on this forum who would do that for another stranger on the internet, hundred of miles away.

I've been on s2ki about a year, and even I get irritated at the intelligence displayed in some of the threads here. XViper really stuck it to some of these retards, and to be honest (as someone else said), I'm glad someone other than myself stepped up to the plate and put some of these worthless e-trolls in their place.

I see so called "community members" such as "hpark" and "replica" bashing xviper. Yet, I'd stake my S2000, keys and all, and say that not one of these useless pieces of trash would lift a finger to help someone in the manner XViper has as in the example listed above.

XVipers detailed DIYs have helped quite literally hundreds of people around the world. I've never personally had to ask him for advice, but a quick trip to UTH will show that his prompt replies to technical questions have helped many, and saved more than one person, a decent chunk of $$$.

I don't blame him one bit for leaving. As someone said, the community has changed as times have changed. Ricers/Retards and other worthless individuals are now able to afford an S2k so that they can "act playa and show off to their homies," while not having the foggiest idea of how to drive properly. Buying an S2k used isn't bad, and I almost did: its just a fact that some of these low-life idiots are now more able to afford an S2000 since they are now more affordable on the used car market.

Thanks for your contributions, and you will be missed. As others have said, decisions made in haste aren't always the best. Sit on it for the weekend, and hopefully you'll be back to entertain us with your great posts. Its been a pleasure.

P.S. i heart DB8:

you may/may not have had a valid point. But posting in the SoCal forum and calling your "cronies" to back you up is lame.

Xviper,
I have only been on here for a couple of months, and every problem or unfairmiliar qualm I have had you have helped me with or reassured me that it is normal. I wish I got into the game sooner b/c you prove a useful tool in helping the inexperienced.

thanks best wishes

pardon my english, but **** them man... So a couple weenies got upset cause someone wanted to use a picture of their car, well so ****ing what. I like those pictures and I'd love to have one. Like you said in your PM, i bet Honda would love to know the guy made money off those pictures (considering Honda got pissed off because Rick was selling SHIFT KNOBS that had "S2000" etched on it).

I at least have to give you many thanks for your efforts in the DIY threads, god knows I use those all the time and I will use them. So thanks a million.

xviper, sorry to see you go. Its usually the nice guys with the good advice that gets screwed. All of that status talk, its true that the forum members put that on you, but you DO deserve somewhat of a respectful status, giving free diagnosis etc. etc.

So that wanker did ONE vector sketch of a S2000 and changed the colors and tweaked it for people at a cost? I don't see a problem for people to pay for that service (if you are so inclined to spend your money), since not all people are graphic literate, but to piss and moan about someone taking that image on a WWW medium and using it for their own purpose is IDIOTIC!

I see the point of intelletual property, but its a freaking profile sketch on a community internet forum! You SoCal people flame me if you want with illustrations that are created with serial numbers etc. etc. Thats CUTE, just like a custom luggage with monograms on it.

I would say this. IF you want to sell something....buy advertisement on the S2Ki site. Or be a vendor and pay those fees. Don't muddy up the nice free support in the community by taking advantage of this forum for personal gain.

Wow! Obviously Xviper is a man of principal. I have always read Xviper's threads with great interest and respect for his knowlege. He always passed any information he had to help others. As the saying goes "It only takes one to screw it up for everybody!" Dam that person!

Sorry to see you go. Really appreciated the DIY threads you made which helped me do alot of things to my car.

Also want to thank you for all the times you replied in my threads with informative answers when others failed to do so. You're a big part of s2ki.com and will definately be missed.

Dave (xviper)

through your volume of helpful advice you've helped me and THOUSANDS of other people alleviate some of the mystery/worry/concerns in maintaining this car and allowed us to enjoy this wonderful vehicle that much more.

THANK YOU for all the help.

No doubt xviper will be missed!
So many will miss out on his knowledge and helpful nature.
God knows how many times my lemon of a car has been personally been helped by him.

On the particulat topic of the signature.
I agree that who ever made the sigs should pay a licensing fee for all the types of rims, body parts, and to Honda for using their likeness. If he is doing that then he might have some grounds to be grumps. However, I highly doubt it.

So if someone took his sig and made adjustments, same thing as him taking images of all the parts he is using without permission.

Hopefully we will see you on a new forum for the new NSX when it is out. See you soon Dave.

X is better off leaving. It seemed he was getting agitated by the increasing number of "noobs".

Too many times he responded not only sarcastically, but full of malice. And some of it was unprovoked.

The thread in which he blew up in, could have been discussed with tact and poise ending in a disagreement of copyright (or not) infringment, and could have proved to be very interesting, but it wasn't.

He was very helpful to the community in obvious terms and I do respect him as a body of automotive knowledge, but to be that angry on a forum to leave, I think stems from some underlying problems.

Interestingly enough, both DB8 and Xviper had a problem with other people not respecting their respective "works". Go figure.
