Erik, had I not met you in person and your beautiful wife, I wouldn't have known the kind of person you are and I wouldn't have cared or bothered. This site is as much a part of me, members and guests as it is a part of you. It's just that some don't quite realize this.

 

I don't know. Four years ago I stumbled into this place in an effort to find out something about the magnificent sportscar that I'd just bought. Within a few weeks something magical happened. I learned an awful lot about my car, shared information and stories and the site stopped being about the car and started being about the people.

I never imagined that my $50 membership was the cheapest ticket that I'd ever buy in terms of entertainment, information and mostly for the friends I've made and the people I've met.

I've locked horns with cthree, learned from xviper, "talked" with scores for other members and through it all have enjoyed every minute.

S2KI is singularly the best "mod" for your car, and the price of membership is insignificant compared to what you get in return.

You needn't join if you don't want. If a free ride turns you on so be it, but this site serves the S2000 community and deserves and needs its support.

"DONATION", that word has been used here many times but pls don't take it literally. If you want to donate, do so for people that need it most.

 

I appreciate this site very much. I think there is a direct link between the number of paying members and the maturity and community feeling behind S2ki. Perhaps this is the major difference between S2ki and other sites with similar numbers but a different feel to them. I'm lame sometimes but I do recognize S2ki as a rare thing; it is the most helpful and diverse auto message board i've been lucky enough to find. Cthree seems like a good guy and i'm sure he wouldn't put as much time and effort into this site if it were just an avenue to make $$$ for himself.

FWIW I think a tiered privelege/access format (guest, member, gold member), even more than it already is, is a good idea.

It's a beautiful day in Pennsylvania and I'm going out to 'dry run' a drive planned for later in the spring.

I wouldn't be doing this except for 'learning how' as part of this here core-munity

I say you gotta pay to play. I just went gold, i have been here almost three years, and i still see people that have been here longer than me and still a guest status. I say you have to be a member for the tech forums. The info is valuable , i piss away 20 bucks on lunch everyday.
