I will even take a 2007 model new at $25k or less.

$22k Ap2LuE good for you! 0% interest doesn't interest me as much on a 2008 if the price is still $30k+.

You are saying you bought a new 2007 leftover for $22K+TTL? I would have to see the papers to believe that one. The dealer would be losing thousands on that deal.

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I am also waiting for Oct-Jan to buy an S2000.

Those are some crazy prices for sure ($22K new!?). Good luck scoring those here in Mass. right now. Top down season ends around October.

KBB says invoice for a new '08 is (including destination) is $31.7K. I find very hard to believe dealerships would sell '08s at $25K come Dec. Specially when there will likely be a non-redesigned '09 model year. Hell, a used '06 lists at 25-26K right now over here.

Realistically, I would be very happy to be able to grab a leftover '08 at invoice with some kind of low financing deal. I am hoping that we get some kind of incentive on the region come fall-winter. That would be a nice surprise.

Does anyone one from the NE know if incentives are given at the end of top down driving season? Whats a realistic price to start negotiations at?

Regards,

Booo, there is no end of top down driving season in Cali. Good for S2000 owners, bad for me.

Just as a point of reference. I recently purchased a 2008 NFR s2k in Mass for 29K + TTL. They gave me the kbb "excellent" price for my trade as well.

I was told I didn't qualify for the special 2% financing since I used "customer cash" to get the lower price. Regardless, I plan on paying the vehicle off before the 3yr loan is over.

Regards,
Dealer incentive in may was $1000. You can also figure in the dealer holdback at around 3% and see how people are negotiating prices down around $30k. My 08 is a Chicane Silver and I know I could have made more progress had I been looking for another color.

I've mentioned it before, but in the south I think the best time to buy is the hottest days of summer, especially at month end. Sweaty test drive conditions and a desire to boost monthly sales numbers work to the buyer's advantage.

I'd e-mail a bunch of dealerships, tell them you know where people have purchased 08s for $30,400 and ask them if they can match it. If you get more than one to match, get them to outbid each other for your business. Local pricing depends on local demand but I don't think you should settle for anything more than $31k if you bought today. Year end you should be able to do even better.
