Actually, at 34, I think I'm the perfect age to have this car, because I fall in between the two extremes in this thread. We have the very young crowd (16-25ish) that seems to be getting flamed for having the car at such a young age (whether or not they paid for it, it seems) and then we have the 50+ crowd that you mention, who COULD be perceived as having a "mid-life" crisis by some people.
When I told a friend I was getting this car, she said "clearly this is an early mid-life crisis".
I disagree. At what age is it "ok" to own a car like this then? In your teens-twenties, most people cant really afford this car (and still have enough to get their own place, pay for dates, etc), and in your 50's you definitely get accused of being in mid-life crisis mode. So, what better age than your 30's when you are (presumably) at a point in your career where you make enough money to afford a nice toy and are still young enough to drive it without being accused of "compensating" for something.
My point (if I have one here) is that I'm happy I fall somewhere in between the two groups. I wont have some people looking at me like I'm an "old man" who needs therapy and others looking at me like I'm a "young snott-nosed punk with a rich daddy".
Of course, as long as people are looking, its all good
This car is an attention getter!*** still counting the days until next month when I can get my car...sigh ***
