I drive with the top down 99% of the time. Recently the rain has been so hard that even while I am still moving I get wet on the inside. Hell, the inside of my windshield was wet! I had to put the top up then, plus I was on the interstate and there was no end in sight from the storm.

For those of you that get too warm and don't like the stickiness of the seat, buy yourself a nice, long towel. Then fold the towel in half length wise and sew just the very top where the two ends meet. You take the part you just sewed and place it over the top of the seat (headrest) and lay the towel over the rest of the seat. Viola! An inexpensive, easy to remove seat cover!

So I just bought my '02 in Suzuka Blue Saturday night and I've ridden with the top up once! I was going less than a mile and was in a hurry. Please forgive me... it will never be up with clear skies again..

yea.. convertibles are gay.. along with all the retractable hardtop mercedes/lexus coupes and porsche's..
You misunderstood me... I think that A LOT of the convertibles on the road today are pretty stupid, except the sports cars... ie. porsche,S2k,Z,Z4....

I hate the mustangs, sebrings, geos, sunfire, beetle, cavaliers, etc....

I bought this car for the PERFORMANCE aspect... The ability to drop it like it's hot, was merely a bonus TO ME....

My S2k is my Daily Driver.... Forgive me if I can't drive it top down all the time...

My wife used to have a Geo (pre-chevy) Tracker when we were in college. It was about 4 years old. She NEVER put the top down, or even back. I always asked her why she had a car with a top that came off that she never used. It was always too hot, too cold, too PMS, too whatever.

When I got the S2K, we were driving and she asked me to put the top up. I told her I got a convertable car and it's going to spend most of the time I drive it as such. Unless it's raining or unbearably hot (90+ with humidity), the top is down.

I was driving around town, cruising down broadway... saw a nice Boxter S With the top up...

I cruised by him, he was about 50 or so, and I motioned my hand back (sorta starting from the top of my windshield toward myself...

we stopped at a stoplight turning the same way... he was behind me and I saw the top go down -- I gave him a thumbs up, as did he. Funny thing is, I saw him that weekend at a Porsche Club Autocross, his first event! - Then I kept on teasing him for having his top up on an 80 degree day!

My top is down if the temperature is within 60F and 80F, outside this range, the top is up.

I enjoy the top down most when the sun is below the windshield header, or at night. That also happens to be when the sun's rays are least harmful to your skin.

I put my top down when I feel like it, also keep it up when I feel like it. I don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

From mid Oct to April my hardtop is on, the rest of the year if it is 50 or more and not raining the top is down. The only exception may be a long interstate ride.
