Default Zip tie front plate to grill - How on Ap2

I seen a few S2000's with the front license plates mounted (zip-tied) to the grill. How is this done since no grill members are near the license plate hole when the plate is positioned in the center?
And, do you have any overheating issues with part of the grill being blocked?
Thank you,
Ken

I have mine attached to the cross member right behind where the grill is. And I don't have any overheating issues at all. I live in Houston, so it gets HOT here too.

I did this the other day. What I did was tie two long zip-ties together on each end, so that they're able to reach the closest slat on the grille. As for the overheating issue, I can't speak to that as I have not driven the car yet. I haven't read any stories of overheating from owners who have mounted their plates in such a fashion, though.

I just did this today. I cut a small piece of perforated angle steel to length (about as long as the license plate is wide), used this stock bolt right in the middle of it (see below), then zip-tied the plate to the angle steel.

I have had my front license plate zip tied to my front grille for over 11 years and 313,000 miles without an issue. I just trimmed a bit off the top and bottom of the license plate, put a thin strip of duct tape along the edge and looped the zip ties through the holes over the horizontal slats in the grille.

Here is a picture of my plate when I first installed it:

I had mine there but removed my grill. Now it's sitting on the floor of my passenger side lol, Thanks for reminding me to do something with it. Never had any overheating issues here though.
