i was wondering will my s2k have faster or slower excelleration with the new transmission. i need a new tranny and if the newer ones help her to be faster i will deff perchase at least it would be a good mod thanks

 

In the first four gears, it'll be similar to having a 4.27 rear end. (The secondary reduction gear was shortened from 1.160 in 03 to 1.208 in 04.) So you'll have slightly better acceleration in each gear, with slightly less range in each gear. 5th gear will be almost exactly the same, with 6th gear just a tad taller.

I added a my05 box to my 01.There is a very noticable difference!It is without a doubt quicker.If you are going to replace you're gearbox,then i would recommend it.

 

any cons on the new tranny?

 

You have to swap the 00-03 companion flange to the 04 trans to bolt up the 00-03 propshaft.
