01 plastic window cracked!
last night i went to put my top down n head to gf's, it wasnt THAT cold out since i was wear short sleeves and was fine.. neway i put top down and i hear a lil plastic breaking sound, but i thought nothing of it jus thought the clip got a lil stuck... so w/e i get to her house and put it up and jus inspect wat it was, and sure enough i got a 5inch crack straight threw in my softtop plastic window... any diy fixs? or a replacement plastic window?
Might as well buy a convertible glass window top from ebay for like $600 used.
That's weird that your plastic cracked, but I've seen miatas with plastic windows cracked but it was due to long exposure to the sun.

time to upgrade to the glass rear
Duct Tape. J/k I would take Amer's advice and buy one with glass. If you don't want it used buy a Robbins top new for a good price. They come in both glass or plastic windows. Or even a hardtop if you have the cash.
thats the thing... 18yr old 600$ is hard to part with for something that shouldnt of happend!!! lol... ill end up seeing what i can do maybe get a new plastic back and put it in myself, or pick up a 02+ glass soft top w/o frame

The oem plastic window is pretty cheap. Cost me under 150 if I remember.
However the labor is enournous to change it. More labor than changing out a complete glass top/frame assy.

There is a way to replace the plastic window part but it's a biyatch. You're far better off just getting a Robbins glass top.
