Default 06+ AP2 DBW Adjustment?

hello guys. After all my issue with the car stalling, I think it might be because of the dbw system. I have ruled out it was a flashpro issue. I have checked everything including spark plugs, pvc valve, compression test, exhaust leak, vacumm leak, etc...

I'm leaning torward something with the throttle body. I took off the intake yesterday to have a look at the throttle. It was a little dirty but wasn't bad. So I got a wet towel and started cleaning it. However when I push against the plate, it feel like there is a little bit of movement. Like it isn't flush. Is it suppose to do that?

I clean it as much as I can however I had to go. There is a lot of resistance trying to keep the plate open while cleaning it. Anyways, put everything back together. It doesn't feel like its going to stall at all now however I notice in first gear, it would rev hang a tad bit.

I'm going to get some brake cleaner and clean it more throughly after I get back into town. I know the AP2 06+ doesn't ave IAC?

Maybe the throttle plate need some lubing. Maybe when I was cleaning the plate by opening and closing it many times trying to clean the throttle body that it worked some of the dirt out. I think my stalling has been solved when coming to a stop. Once your foot is off the gas pedal the injector shut off. I think the plate was open a fraction so it would cause the car to run rich. The injector shut off but air is still coming in, would that cause a rich condition?

anyways, what do you guys think? any suggestion. Should I lube the hinge on the plate? any adjustment? how about the plate not being closed fully?

1. If the injectors shut off the car would die.
2. If the plate fully closed the car would die.
3. If the injectors shut off and air is sitll present that would be lean.

As far as the rev hang. I would assume you could do somthing with your flash pro to fix that issue.

thnx for the response 4forall.

Currently the car is running stock ecu with no flash. It make sense that the plate wouldn't be fully closed as you stated it would die if it was.

So any maintenance to the throttle body beside cleaning the black stuff? Maybe the rev hang is caused by the plate not closing smoothly?

At WOT, it doesn't have that symptom. Its just when I'm driving and switching gear in 1st gear (anywhere from 3-5k RPM) or when approaching a bump or stop and I'm in first gear, rev up and press on clutch, it would stay there for a fraction of a second before going down.

Changing gear, rev up to 3.5k switch to 2nd gear, the rev would stay at 3.5k for a fraction of a second and then fall.

issue resolved. I finished cleaning the throttle body better from top to bottom. Went for a test drive and there is no more rev hanging in 1st gear

i also reset the ECU and did the re-learn procedure as well.

cross finger that its fixed but seem to be great in the 20 min test drive.

bummer that no one gave any input beside 4forall.

I guess some issue some people have more input than others. oh well. You just have to depend on yourself to figure things out in the long run.

That's the nature of any discussion forum site. Don't overlook searching.

Glad you figured it out man, and that it was something that a good old fashion cleaning could solve. The crud in your throttle body could be developing due to oil blow-by from the PCV. If you see it come back quickly, it may be wise to invest in a catch can.

And by the way, the throttle body wasn't that dirty at all. Just enough to cause an issue. Maybe the dbw system is very picky or sensentive to it. oh well.
