Default '06 S2000 Drive By Wire Stumble

I have 520 miles on my new S. The throttle response is instant, EXCEPT --- if you slowly decelerate with the throttle closed, like approaching a traffic light, then hit the gas, there is a noticeable delay before something happens. Only happens after a decel.

Has anybody else had this happen?

This is probably a "fix". My 01 hickups roughly sometimes if I do that. I need to get on the gas smoothly to avoid that, so that's being handled my the computer now..

So you ar sying that the Drive-By-Wire throttle has been programmed to produce the same hiccup?

Or are you sying that the hiccup is endemic to the S

So you are decelerating in gear, then gas it. What gear are you in ?

I thought you said you had a delay. My car bucks a couple of times (depends on rpms) and it especially does it at low rpms. I am wondering if the reprogramming prevents it from doing that by instead slowly opening the throttle. Just a thought.

Your 01' doesn't have DBW

Its common for ANY standard car to "buck" slightly when going from completley off the gas to on the gas, while staying in gear and not using the clutch at all.

You are right. But that was part of the point. If Honda realized this fault, they may have programmed the DBW so as to minimize this bucking...but as a penalty, the car doesn't respond instantly as desired.
