It's what the S2000 does. If it's very irritating to you, put the clutch in , downshift and be off.

Good point, M. I guess those little torque converters absorb a lot of what decel/accel lash there is. Plus, most of those are FWD, a totally different power delivery - much less drivetrain "length" (thus, less lash).

I think yflyer needs to re-state his question. It's kind of vague to me -- it comes off as either a DBW issue to me, or a driving flaw to me.

If we're talking about hitting the gas (while in gear) and there is some drivetrain bucking, then yes, that's a trait of all manual cars. If we're talking about no response at all after hitting the gas, then suddenly the RPMs shoot up, then that's a DBW issue.

Edit: Or it could be the low RPM stumble of the IAC valve?

An 06 doesn't have an IAC.
