Default '07 Keyless Entry/Trunk Release Issue

So I just recently bought a left over (new) '07 s2000. It seems that the keyless entry is pretty weak. I have to be about 10ft away before the head lights will flash, and doors unlock. Is this normal, or should it work from a greater distance? Also, the remote has a trunk release button, but it never works. (Not even when I am right next to the trunk) Should this work as well? Or are s2000's not equipped with this feature?

Any help is greatly appreciated

I have to be pretty close to the car for the remote to work.

The trunk release should definitely be working. You could try changing the battery in the remote, just in case. If that doesn't fix the trunk problem, just bring it back to the dealer and have them check it out.

Alright. Good to know that it is weak. I am gonna try my other remote to see if the trunk release on it works. If not, then to the dealership I go. I thought about this while in class today (yes, not paying attention), and figured I'd post the question while it was in my mind.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks for the help!

Just my 2 cents: you must press and hold the trunk release button for a few seconds in order for it to work.

Yup yup - hold it down for a second or two and it should pop.

^^^ Good to know. I am still an S2k newbie. Oh well! The battery in my one remote was pretty dead. The other remote works from a much great distance. Thanks!

I find it hard to get into the car from over 10 feet away. I normally do not unlock the car until I am about to grab the door handle.
