yeah i want to know if anybody has experienced this and what can it be. i was racing and sti and after the race my 1st and 2nd gear would not go in after a while they started to go in but they felt harsh the rest of the gears where fine. the next day everything was fine does anybody have any ideas what it could be and how to prevent it. thanx

First and second gear don't like racing.

 

thats usualy the clutch not letting all the way go.... from what i have seen in my cars... and 1st and 2nd are big gears they can take some snotting on

 

I had a similar problem, after the car was run pretty hard it would take a good amount of force to go into 1st and would take a couple tries before it would engage.

Took it to the dealer and they replaced the 1st gear syncro in the xmission. (also said the fork was slightly bent from the force it took to put it into gear )

Since both 1st and 2nd gear share one collar/syncro in the xmission, I would look in that area for the problem.

 

this also often happens after a missed or grinded 1-2 shift
