Default 2002 Hardtop install question

Hello,

I have searched and have left a message with hardtop guy. I need to get an answer quickly so I can order these if a I need to.

I have a 2002 S2K and will be installing a hardtop on it Tuesday from another owner with a 2002. I will be removing his side catches and installing on my car.

My question is are the striker plates different for the 2002? I think at some point Honda started putting these on as standard but I am not sure.

Do I need to order the "hardtop striker" or are the plates on the 02 already set for this?

Thanks

I didn't need to change them on my 05, although the installation kit comes with two new strikers.

Good Luck ... the hardtop is great.

Ask the seller if he put on the new strikers or if he just used the existing ones.

I can't remember for certain, so I won't guess at this time when Honda put on the HD strikers as OEM equipment.

I had to get new ones (updated) for my MY01 when I put the hardtop on.

They were upgraded in 2002 ... you should be fine.

Thanks for all the responses. I went ahead and ordered them this afternoon from hardtop guy to insure I would have them in time. Left an early am message for hardtopguy and then another 3pm message and explained to the parts guy my dilema and that I needed an answer... never got a call back

I will still go ahead and replace as you can see a lot of wear on my exisitng ones.

The 02 came with the updated strikers, The HT's still come with a new set. I'd save them until your originals get worn enough to replace.
