Alright, well i recieved my lip 2 weeks ago and installed it. I read around and found a member who installed one himself and could not install all the nuts and bolts, i believe he installed 8/12 bolts. So when i came to, to install mine i encountered the same friggen problem. I could not bolt on the 3 bolts located in the front middle part of the lip. The sides are holding strong and the front is hanging on by double sided tape. The bolts on front just doesnt want to go in, and yes i took out the existing bolts that were on the bumper itself. Its in the hole and everything but its just plain loose, nothing to screw it into. Does anyone have this problem, does anyone know how to fix it?

Did you also get the '04 undertray assembly? The pre-04 undertray is too short and will not reach the '04 bumper at all. If you do not have the '04 undertray, you need to make extensions.

 

Yea i do have the 2004 splash shield retro kit, the bumper bolted right on.

 

Then I would suggest you jack the car up so you can actually crawl under there and look to see if the metal clips are in the right place. Those clips have the female threaded part and I'd imagine that somehow these clips have shifted and you are not getting the bolt anywhere near the thread.
