When the engine is running, no CEL ,no problem IMO.

Yeah no cel at all, just wierd how that does that with these cars, actually the tech at honda told me that all the newer cars do this.

hmmm, mine doesnt do this. just ran out to try it out. after about 20 seconds, the check engine light just goes out, no blinking. this is with turning the key all the way on but not starting it.

I've never noticed but I'm sure mine would do the same thing.

I was told that this normal turn on car, not starting it after 15 to 20 seconds engine light blinks 5 times then goes out.

you need to get more feedback, and have people try this out, to see what is 'normal'. if you have any s2k friends in your area, should try it out in thiers.

Must be a Canadian thing. I guess it's to show you the dash bulb is working if you were to have an issue.
