i only had it on for less than a year before I sold the car...but during that time I never had a problem.

I've also heard that using hiper white bulbs burns out the sockets...i've been using hiper white bulbs for a long time now in all my other cars and have never had a problem. These things are made to withstand the heat.

Hmmm ... now I have two conflicting opinions ...

But back to the topic: is it hard to switch out the bulbs?

It's quite simple to do. I've been running with 10K for over 2 years without a problem. From a JDM housing to my new 2005 OEM housings. Hardest part was to get the D2S bulb into the housing. Make sure you pick up a tamper proof torx bit similar to this: . You'll need it to get the HID cover off. Otherwise, it's like changing out any other headlight bulb. Shoot me a pm if you have further questions. Me and my roommate have 10K and 12K in our S. I'll never go back to the OEM setup because it looks great with the new setup. You can still see very well with the higher temperature bulbs contrary to other peoples beliefs.

Using a higher K bulb is not going to wear anything out. The fact is, HID bulbs, even 8000k, still burn cooler than your standard "Upgraded" halogen bulbs. I'll be upgrading my bulbs to 8000k before long as well.

I don't know who said higher kelvin capsules burn out ballasts but they are wrong. They do not damage your ballast. The only thing higher kelvin capsules do is waste your money. All you are doing is losing a very good amount of lumens. Why on earth anyone would rather "look cooler" than having the proper amount of light on the road is beyond me. Anything above 5k is a complete waste.

BTW, you can reach your capsules through the fender well right in front of the front tires. All you have to do is unclip the wheel well.

How good is your price? This is the best price I've seen for replacement burners.

I've had great reliability with McCulloch so far. I ran their 5000k HID retro on my eclipse for 2 years and now they are on a '91 Z. I'd go with the 3000k if mine ever died.

After changing my headlamps, I realized that one of my bulbs was differet than the other, making the light output look a little different from the other original. I decided to go with these
