My first attempt at playing around with a projector from a broken MY00 Housing. I'm using a spring as a spacer so that I can adjust the cutoff shield and keep it firmly in place all the time.

You can't really see it in the photos, but I do notice a blue line after moving the shield back a little.

Ive got 10000K, ive had them for about a month now and I love them. I've read all kinds of articles about how visibilty with the 10000K sucks. As far as visibilty, I honestly can barely tell a difference between the stock HID bulb and the 10000K and if visibilty is ever an issue, Heaven forbid, I might just have to move my left hand a little bit and flip the brights on. In my opinion for the difference it is well worth the money. When driving down the interstate, the reflectors and signs look blue, they look much better than 4300K. The stocks look yellow when compared to the 10000K, they are bluest headlights on the road.

10000K next to Sylvania's (supposed to blue) Silverstar's Halogen bulbs

This is interesting. Could we just move the cutoff shield closer to the reflector on your projector housings and accomplish the bluer looking cutoff band? Then we'll preserve the light intensity while having the look of bluer HID's.
this is where the washers come in:

you unscrew the sheild from the housing add one washer on each side and re-screw the sheild. go here:

Yeah that's what I did with a projector I had lying around. Except I used a spring around the actual screw itself. Can I mod the headlights without taking them apart? It seems like there's a pretty big hole I can work with on the housing.

GranPrix,

the link in your post said something about a moded cut off shield. Care to explain more in detail?

O I think I might understand, when you say modded shield you mean with the #8 washers...I thought you actually hacked away at the shield for a second there
