Yo don't be stupid to exchange the oem 4500k to 8000k...it just looks more blue but not brighter. You will see nothing in the rain, seriously. My ex-car which was a eg6 been changed a 8000k HID, and I just can say, don't do that again.

KPXguy411s 8000k look amazing! I was with him a few times last week and in person, flipping them on, going down the road, etc. they looked WAY nicer than stock.
But we were driving around Vancouver in the dark and rain one night, and I noticed they werent as bright (we all know that). We could still see fine, but it was a little dimmer. I think if it were dark but dry, it'd be fine.
I plan on going with 6600k!

each his own.....if you live in the City/Suburbs what does it matter....around here it's lit up everywhere anyway...I never had any problems with my 10k and they looked wicked from afar....

And if I'm anywhere without a lot of street lights and I can't see very well I just turn on the high beams. No biggie.

dude seriously though after reading that site on HID's I don't want to upgrade to 6000K anymore. Notice how even the 6000K Ultinons put out significantly less light than 4300K's?

I also found it interesting how HID's get whiter as they age, but also put out less light. I guess that makes sense, since when you first turn on your HID's, they're putting out less light as they warm up, and are bluer.

How can the blue color in the cutoff band be increased?

Moving the cutoff shield closer to the reflector will accomplish this task. This is done by pressing the shield with a finger towards the reflector. Note that cutoff will be even sharper. Moving curved lens away from shield has same effect, but will decrease output hight and width.
This is interesting. Could we just move the cutoff shield closer to the reflector on your projector housings and accomplish the bluer looking cutoff band? Then we'll preserve the light intensity while having the look of bluer HID's.
