ABS light on after new battery
So.... accidentally hooked up a new battery with the terminals reversed. Blew the main fuse and now my ABS light is on! Wasn't feeling too smart after that one and I'm lucky I didn't fry my ecu and everything else.
Followed the instructions here to get the code it's throwing
My ABS light came on this morning WHY?
According to the above post, my code (54) indicates an issue with the ABS Fail-safe Relay. Does anyone know if this is something that can be fixed? Reading through the post above, the relay is inside the controller so my guess at this point would be no. Hoping not to have to replace my whole ABS unit. Thanks in advance!

(54) is the ABS-Fail Safe Relay
I believe this code needs a hard clear with a PGM Scan Tool ( as opposed to disconnecting the battery to clear the code.). Auto Part stores used to do this but most have stopped due to liability reasons. Most garages will still do it for a few bucks. If the light comes back on after clearing you need a new ABS Module. If not you lucked out and are good to go .

P.S. You can try the battery disconnect method as it won't cause any harm....it may reset (?)
