Default Ac blowing white smoke?!?!?

Hey guys!

So a few months back I notice that when ever I turn on my AC white smoke comes out of the vents. I've done some digging around and people seem to say that it's possible that my heater core is leaking and or needs to be replaced. Well my dilemma lies in I have no idea where that's located or how to inspect it any suggestions or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I might add the white smoke has no particular smell that I can pin point and the AC still blows cold air but not as cold as it use to. Also I have not noticed my carpet breing damp but then Again where do I begin to check for dampness from a possible leak? Again thanks in advance for ur input gents!

David

It's not smoke. It's condensation.

It happens all the time though everytime I turn it on and my ac is not blowing as cold as it use to. What does the coolant smell like? And where can I check for leaks. Plus I should mention I live in Sacramento ca weather here can get hot but not always. The first summer I owned my car it was hotter than this last last summer when I first noticed the issue. Which is hat led me to believe it wasnt condensation. I just want to be sure and be able to eliminate other possibilities.

Open up your coolant reservoir and smell. It's a very distinct smell that I'm sure you would have noticed. I had this same issue a while back, was just condensation.

If the s2k coolant system got contaminated quickly like american cars, I'd say MAYBE a heater core. s2k cooling systems remain spotless even after 11 years on the original coolant. Get it together american auto makers, you suck

I've seen the condensation in mine too, depends on the weather. I'm sure you're fine.

seriously, right?

I love how cheap parts are for american cars but for some reason the S stays spotless - very very few oil leaks on my 2001 S...my 97 camaro four years ago had a crapload of oil leaking from everywhere!
